Zor Zor Zor
Zor Zor Zor first discovered her strong love for art in 2011 while traveling abroad. With nothing but time on her hands, she wandered, drew, and snapped pictures of whatever interested her. Graffiti and street art made the biggest impact, and when she returned home to Chicago, she instinctively became focused on "getting up" in her own city. Years later, this love still remains, and has branched into developing her vision in the studio on whatever materials she can get her hands on. Old, new, or damaged; everything has potential. In her work, she focuses on the female and tries to express what hidden emotions lie inside the conscious or subconscious. In her paintings, she sees a reflection of herself, almost as if looking into a mirror, and finds that they teach her things about herself. A finished piece always has more to say than what the initial idea might have been. It is a never ending process and insight into her personal growth.
In just a few years, and with no formal training, Zor Zor Zor has gained attention in the Chicago art community and has been included in many exhibitions throughout the city. She has shown at the Chicago Cultural Center, the Hyde Park Art Center, Beverly Art Center, Elephant Room Gallery and the Zhou B Art Center. She has also shown in Berlin, Germany and Mexico City at DIY pop up spaces. Aside from showing her work indoors, Zor Zor Zor continues to travel with every opportunity that she gets, and brings her work with her to decorate the streets of the world.
